The Deep Cleaning Checklist We Use in Every Sarasota Home

March 12, 2026 Coastal Clean & Care

A deep clean isn't just a regular clean that takes longer. It's a different job with a different order of operations, and getting that order right is most of what separates a professional result from a long, frustrating Saturday. Here's the checklist our team works from in homes across Sarasota, Gulf Gate, and Siesta Key.

Start in the kitchen, and start high. Clear the counters completely, then work top-down: cabinet fronts and tops, range hood, backsplash, then the stove and countertops. Pull out the small appliances and clean underneath them. Inside the oven, inside the fridge, and the rubber seal around the fridge door are the three spots people skip most often — and they're the three that make a kitchen actually feel deep-cleaned.

Bathrooms come next because they need dwell time. Spray the grout, shower glass, and any hard-water buildup first and let the product sit while you work on mirrors, fixtures, and the vanity. In Sarasota our water is hard enough that shower glass and chrome need a dedicated scale treatment, not just an all-purpose spray. Come back to the tile last, when the pre-treatment has done the work for you.

Bedrooms and living areas are about dust and soft surfaces. Strip and remake the beds, vacuum the mattresses, then dust in this order: ceiling fans, light fixtures, window sills and tracks, blinds, furniture, baseboards. Dust falls, so anything you do out of order you'll be doing twice. Vacuum and mop last, once everything above floor level is finished.

Set aside time for the coastal-specific work: slider tracks, window screens, and the salt film that builds on any glass facing the Gulf. These aren't in most checklists, but in a beach-adjacent home they're the difference between clean and genuinely clean.
